of blues" with a vengence. Guitarist Jared Stamey's
menacing guitar work blows away the most critical
crowds. He shares the front line with the spirited
vocal testiments and hellacious harp of "Fat
Mike" Berrier.
The "backbone" is provided by the steady
pulse of Jack Younger's bass, the smooth textured
percussion of BJ Durham and the soulful sounds
of Dwayne Leonard's saxaphone. Their combined talents
invoke an undeniable reverance for The Blues.
The Thermatones play a blend of Texas and Delta
Blues from the traditional styles of Mississippi
Delta Blues (Robert Johnson) to Chicago Blues ( Howlin'
Wolf and Muddy Waters) and to the Texas guitar-slinger
sounds of Billy Gibbons, Johnny Winter, and of course
Stevie.
All these influences are blended into a sound that
is uniquely their own and rooted firmly in the traditions
of the blues. The ThermaTones are carrying-on
the front porch tradition of playing the blues from
